Energy transition, renewable energies and smart grids

German title: Energiewende, erneuerbare Energien und smarte Stromnetze

Students gain an introductory, basic understanding of the structure and operation of sustainable and renewable energy supply systems. Lecture is held on Tuesdays from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm. The exercises are held on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 11:15 am.

Description

The main contents of the module are:

  • Energy transition towards a cross-sector regenerative energy supply based on renewable energies and other innovative components
  • Renewable energy generation systems with a focus on wind energy utilisation and photovoltaic systems
  • New consumers, electromobility and sector coupling
  • Grid and market integration of load and generation systems, digitalisation and smart grids
  • Outlook on future system developments in the area of generation, transmission and consumption of electrical energy
